An Indoor Tent

This is what cold weather does to us. It gives us static hair when playing inside our "princess castle." Just thought I'd share; this image made me laugh.

Also, just FYI that Alice will be out of the office Friday - Sunday spending time with family for Chinese New Year!
Happy Year of the Ox Everyone!

A Great Day

The best part about my job, HANDS DOWN, are the children I'm privileged to work with. I get to work with subjects who open to life fully, teach me how to be joyous all over again, and make me feel 20 years younger attending summer camp everyday.

Every so often, I'm able to connect with my little subjects beyond our session appointment. I watch them grow from little peanuts to very mobile crawlers to chatty toddlers that tell me every detail in their imaginative world of make believe.

Today, I made a special print delivery to Joey and his family. After our appointment late last year, his mom wrote me an email with Joey asking if I would be his babysitter. Awe! I spent all afternoon catching up with my new friend... showing me all of the new toys from Christmas, introducing his new pet, "Peter the Bunny", and telling me he's completely over Winnie the Pooh now. I asked mom to capture a few shots of us. Love these, stinker face and all!

When I got home, I was so pleasantly surprised to see a BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers from long time friend Elizabeth and her family!

My favorite part was her handwritten thank you card....

I've got the best job in the world. What a great day!

Macho Man

Only at this age is it perfectly acceptable to exploit the fat and chubbiness in photographs. It's sooo cute.

Odin is bigger in weight & height than most 1 year olds, but the feature I loved most about him was his "macho arms" as I called them.

And how adorable is his butterball grin?

My favorite image came at the end of the session with dad. I guess even 25 pounds of pure cuteness needs to sleep.

Detoxifying....with Arden's Garden

After weeks of stuffing myself with fried food, cake, cookies and late night snacking (ok, more like years), I've decided the weight around my hips and thighs wasn't going to magically disappear on its own. I need to reclaim my health and body. Because jumping and running around with kids during photo shoots doesn't burn as many calories as I thought it would...

I'm on Day 2 of Arden's Garden Detox Program - a two-day juice program that cleanses, detoxifies, and rejuvenates the body while allowing you to also lose a few pounds. I haven't been following the regimen exactly, as it strictly calls for no food, but I already feel revitalized, lighter, and motivated to continue this path of healthy living.

2009 is going to be a great year for me. Maybe this health kick will encourage me to cook healthier foods & eat more fruits and vegetables. Maybe I'll finally be able to fit into my pre-college clothes and dresses. Or maybe, just maybe it'll encourage me to sleep more, work less so I can take in more of the world around me with a lighter spirit (or maybe just annoy Kyu less with my grogginess). I'll drink another glass of fruit juice to that!

Pure Joy

I just love the inexpressible joy that I'm able to capture with my camera when I let mom and her child be. I stand in the background, tell mom to pretend I'm not there, and let beautiful moments like these unfold...

I just love these of Addie as well.

This is joy in its purest form.

Maverick and Me

We were childhood friends growing up together in Valdosta. Both awkwardly tall, skinny, but oh-so-happy.

I go home to see my family in Valdosta every chance I get, and that includes seeing my 140 pound dane Maverick. He's a bit of a miracle dog at 13 years old. Every bit as athletic, happy and faithful to me.

Apologize for the lack of light & quality. Taken at a nearby park this past weekend.

2009 for the Parks

My friends can attest that one of my favorite parts of being married to my husband, is the hopes and dreams we have for our future and for Alice Park Photography. It's the best feeling in the world knowing that we started this business together just a couple of years ago. I was dying working a 9-5 cubicle job, and today - I get to spend my days finding beautiful light with beautiful babies.

After every session, I give Mr. Park a big hug because I owe this very fulfilling job that I have, to him. Kyu is a very modest, humble and behind-the-scenes kind of guy, but behind every business decision is a mastermind who is constantly three steps ahead planning the future for our little small business.

We have a lot planned and in store for 2009, and I'm so thrilled that we are doing this 100% together. Side-by-side. Holding our hands and holding our breath. Life is a lot funner when you can share every magical moment and milestone (and even obstacle) with someone you love.
