Four Generations

I have been photographing the Amos family for years now... The boys always ask their mom, "Is Miss Alice gonna bring us the marble drinks this time?" And of course, I always do.... (it's my secret weapon to getting great expressions out of the boys).

Mom wanted to schedule this season's photos around capturing a timeless image with all four generations. I loved the sentiment and traveled to Columbus for the challenge.

Lovely images of a lovely family.

And four generations together. I love this image of Baby Knox and his great grandfather, Paul Amos. Paul is an incredible yet very humble individual. He is the founder of Aflac, a thriving Fortune 500 company, but you would never know it from his humorous demeanor. He is, no doubt, an amazing role model to the children in his life...

After the "formal portraits," we ran out into the fields for some fun family candids. It was such a beautiful day out!

They put on some play clothes, and we captured some less traditional family photos...

And at the end of the day, they had dinner and gave thanks for another perfect day with the people they love most...
It was a good day for the Amos family....

The cutest baby in New York City

It's really a toss up. I love all of the babies I photograph up there, but Ajax has GOT to be at the top of the list. Look at his beautiful curls! How insanely adorable is he?

Ajax and his lion costume this Halloween! His parents are big supporters of serengeti wildlife, so I thought his costume was really appropriate.
Although mom thinks she loves seeing him in this costume more than he loves being in it :)

It was a very windy day in the city, but the light was beautiful and the buildings were amazing.
These were some of the last shots I took before running off to catch my flight.

More images to come! Just finished a whirlwind weekend shooting 20+ families on Saturday and a family of 20 on Sunday!

If I could have free reign during my photo sessions...

...I would just stand back and document as life happens.

When I arrived to greet Georgia and Cannon's family, mom said to me, "Just do you thing...however style you want." I was thrilled!!

My favorite images of the day:

Absolutely adorable...

Ransom | New York Child Photographer

Last week, I left Atlanta's torrential rain and flew into one of the most beautiful New York fall days. Ransom (you may remember my previous post on this sweet boy here) is now talking, fascinated by all things balls, and just loves doing everything with mom and dad.

Some of my favorite images from my time with 16 month old Ransom...

Absolutely love these next 2 with mom.

The work of Tom Camp

Talented, isn't he?

Tom and I bumped into each other in New York while I was photographing one of the families in the buildings he concierges. Isn't that random? He saw me running around with my camera equipment, and when I was leaving, he opened the door for me and asked, "What software do you edit your photos in?" Intrigued, I asked him about his background in photography. He gave me the 2 minute summary, I handed him my card, and we both went in our separate ways.

I received an email from Tom today with some of his recent work, and I was AMAZED!

Confessions of a mildly obsessive New York shopaholic

Nevermind that I spent all of my earnings in New York in one store, within one hour. It was the mother-ship of all Anthropologies. Three floors of vintage-inspired accessories, decor items, and one-of-a-kind wardrobe pieces. Walking distance from my hotel off 5th Avenue. I was in heaven...

While there, I had the opportunity to chat with their executive creative director, Kristin Norris, about how
effective retail shopping environments affect consumer spending. Fascinating! More on that in another blog post!

Kids just love me...

...especially when I stack all of their FAVORITE toys together and begin photographing them for their Show & Tell page.

They love me so much, the parents have to hold them back!

...well, it's either me, or their toys... I can't tell which they love more ;)

Always such a hoot to watch this all unfold. It happens EVERY time.
