This past weekend, I had the privilege of photographing one of my sister's closest little friends. Our session was very special, as instead of taking payment for the images, I told little Dian to try her best to grow up to be a good person and try to make a difference in the world. At age 2 and a half, she smiled and nodded her head in agreement.
Love the joy in her face.
My sister with Dian. She teaches her piano lessons every Wednesday for an hour.
Emily quotes one of her favorite writer, Garrison Keillor, in response to my work:
"Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem not to notice us,
hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer thanks, but what we do
for them is never wasted."
